E: Eternity

We are going to be alive forever, according to the scriptures. Our souls are immortal and how we will spend our everlasting eternity is determined by the choices we make during our short stay here on earth.

Salvation is free – it’s not something we can earn:

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23

Forever is a long time. Much longer than the approximately seventy years we have in this life. How will you spend eternity? It’s a pretty easy choice, in my opinion.

  1. I have noticed that it is forever "now." Time passes chronologically, but as far as inwardly, it is always now. We can throw away this moment in a destructive manner- a form of death; or, we can create, love, relate, be wise, caring, giving in this moment. We can play a part in how this very moment makes life go for us and others. I wonder if all of eternity is in this moment?

  2. I do believe that Donovan has broken it down nicely. Forever is the moment that we are in at the moment. Everlasting Eternity is God's promise that the moment we are in will never end only expand. Presently we are only within our own moment. Perhaps, eternal life will allow us to be in other peoples moments without actually being there.

  3. AS a believer how ominous is the thought of HELL.
Eternity alone is so hard to fathom.
People often say how can a loving God send someone to Hell?
He doesn't send us ,we .choose to go.
We lose sight of the decisions we make here in a moment
can either have eternal reward or consequence
Think of what you love most and what you hate most, then spending eternity doing one or the other.Great subject today. very thought provoking.
